Karsyn Young March 23,2010

  Karsyn Young died march 23,2010. On March 22, his mother had dropped him off to be babysat by Shawn Blackburn her ex boyfriend and the only father figure Karsyn had ever known. Shawn had a history of alleged abuse on Karsyn prior to his death he had a broken leg Child protective investigated and returned the children to their mothers custody. Karsyn was an adorable 10 month old who was loved by his family and missed dearly. August 5,2011 Mr. Blackburn was sentenced to 10 years for 2nd degree murder he is elgible to get out in 2018.
  Karsyn was trying to walk,learning how to talk. He had a sister and a brother who loved him. His brother 2 at the time witnessed the physical attack on Karsyn. Karsyn had suffered several unexplained injuries prior to his death, a busted lip,black eye,and broken leg. None of these could be directly tied to the defendant. Almost 24 hours after karsyn was dropped off there was a 911 call he was not breathing.Some woman in the front yard screaming the baby is dead repeatedly. When fire fighters arrived Karsyn was cold and stiff telling the fire rescue he had not just quit breathing this was begining of the defendants story falling apart. During the autopsy Karsyn tested positive for marijuanna,broken bones, organ damage, the whole time the defendant claimed he fell down the stairs.
  After legal wrangling for over a year and holding tight to the story of accidental death the defendant accepted a plea deal. 2 nd degree murder serving 10 years with good behavior he can get out in 2018. Personally I do not think this is enough time for this crime because this baby had a future that was taken from him by this defendant.
